Mediation
Mediation is a voluntary negotiation facilitated by an impartial mediator selected by the parties. Mediators meet with all parties to help them discuss and reach an agreement that resolves the disputed issues. A mediator’s ultimate goal is to encourage and guide the parties so that they themselves reach a final mutually satisfactory outcome. Mediators are facilitators, not decision makers. In Mediation, the parties always control the outcome.
Any of the NCAB Arbitrators can assist you with mediation, as well. You may contact any of them directly to discuss and schedule a mediation. Each mediator sets his or her own fees for mediation services. The North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission publishes a Guide to Selecting a Mediator that you may find helpful. You can use the following link to locate a mediator in your area to help you.

Expedited Arbitration
NCAB’s Expedited Arbitration Program provides a private alternative to civil litigation for the resolution of claims and disputes that may arise in condominiums and planned communities. Arbitration services are provided on a fixed fee basis and are scheduled to allow for full completion of the case within 180 days on average. This makes the process one of the most economical and efficient legally binding dispute resolution alternatives available. We invite you to read our Arbitration Overview and Arbitration Rules for more details.
Expedited arbitration is completely voluntary. All parties must agree to arbitration through NCAB and to abide by NCAB’s Arbitration Rules. Expedited arbitration is appropriate for the resolution of any type of dispute that might otherwise be resolved through the courts except collection matters for which uniform statutory processes have been established state-wide.
If you have any questions regarding NCAB’s Expedited Arbitration Program, please contact us by phone at 704-945-4950 or by email to arbitrate@ncassociationbureau.org. We look forward to serving you.
